N.J. Fashion Week and Late Night Cheeseburgers

This past Friday night was the beginning of preparations for something I’ve been looking forward to since October… the 2^nd Annual New Jersey Fashion Week!

This was the weekend things really got started. There was a mixer for everyone involved with New Jersey Fashion Week. Basically it was a preliminary meet-up for everyone who’s going to be involved – and even those who want to be involved! – with the exciting week in October.

I was lucky enough to co-host the event with Tom Murro, the Celebrity Magnet, and of course the always fashionable Donnella Tilery, founder and creator of New Jersey Fashion Week. It was absolutely incredible!

The W Hotel in Hoboken was the perfect place for it. It sits right on the Hudson River, right across from NYC so you can see the skyline and get the ambiance of the city. It’s centrally located so everyone could make it, too. And the turn out was huge!! Everyone from designers to make-up artists, hair stylists to models were in attendance. From 7 to 11, over 300 people came to support the event. Several of my designer friends turned out, too, like Thomas Lavone and Darius Gibbs. The lovely Tracy Dimarco from Jerseylicious also came for the evening.

It was an event to remember! People showed up that weren’t even involved with the week yet, they just wanted to be involved with it. One girl even came all the way up from Atlantic City just so that she could be a part of the evening.

But who can blame them for wanting to be a part of it? The success of the first New Jersey Fashion Week was so great that it’s no wonder everyone wants to be involved this time around! And I can promise you, especially after this mixer, this year’s New Jersey Fashion Week is going to be even better than the first one (if you can believe it!), simply because everyone is so excited to see how it’s grown!

I truly can’t wait to see everything come together for October. I’ll get to be one of the judges who select the overall best designer from the event and I’m going to walk in the show! Don’t worry, though, no favoritism here! I’m just excited to see what I’ll get to wear and see from these fantastic designers!

Overall, the night was absolutely wonderful. Not only did I get to spend time with good friends, but I was greeted by such friendly fans and interviewed with Queen Buzz and Stacy Sabo, The Star Ledger. What a blast! It was simply a great gathering for people to get to know one another as we all get excited about this year’s New Jersey Fashion Week. Donnella has put another great event in motion. I can’t wait to see what developments come as October moves closer!

Even once the mixer ended, the night was fun. It was wonderful getting to settle down and grab cheeseburgers on the way home with Tom and his wife, Kelly. I bet he enjoyed me chauffeuring him home!! Hope he doesn’t get too used to it!
