While MTV’s Movie Awards were a good watch last night, it wasn’t all that hard to figure out how the show would go down. Obviously The Twilight Saga: Eclipse would take home everything it was nominated for… and despite word that Justin Bieber could not make it, Biebs would win something and, in fact, appear.
The real shocker of the night, however, came in terms of an engagement. Twilight actress Nikki Reed and ‘American Idol’ contest Paul McDonald came to the Awards with more than just each other. Nikki had a sparkly new ring to show, while gushing to E! that “he’s the one.” A source later confirmed to E! that the couple is engaged.
The couple first met in March when Nikki and the Top 13 contestants of ‘American Idol’ attended the L.A. premiere of Red Riding Hood. Nikki, who complimented Paul on his singing, obviously left an impression considering Paul immediately asked the Idol camera crew who she was.
When Paul, who made it to the Top 8 on this season of Idol, confirmed they were dating after being eliminated from the show on April 14, he opened up about his girlfriend, saying, “I haven’t ever actually watched any of her movies. I don’t know too much of her career at all, but the person she is is super cool.”
From March to June? Talk about a whirlwind romance! Wonder when the wedding bells will sound…
