We spent last Friday at the world premiere of “The Mighty Macs” – The story about Cathy Rush becoming the head basketball coach at Immaculatta, a small, all-girls Catholic college is Chester County, PA. Though her team has no gym, no uniforms , and very low expectations for any girl’s athletic program (it was 1972, after all), Coach Rush looks to steer her girls to their first national championship. With fantastic, uplifting films like ‘The Mighty Macs’ and Emilio Estevez’s ‘The Way’ out this summer -it’s time to stop complaining about what Holloywood is throwing out there – support some great indie films – at a theater near you!
