The ROCKED will tour W Hotels through 2012.
W Downtown’s 5th floor was the location for the photographs, the real party was in a tent downstairs. “He likes to kiss you while posing for pictures,” Tom Murro told us. Tom described the colorful photographer as “as much of a rock star as the people he takes pictures of.” Tom spent some time with designer Betsey Johnson, Stephen Baldwin, and Betsey’s daughter Lulu at the opening as well.
Mick pointed out some of his work at the exhibit while Tom listened, mingled and snapped pictures of the photographer and his guests. Almost embarassed by his point-and-shoot, Mick laughed and pointed out that he took the Lady Gaga with the forks picture on the wall with a point and shoot. Tom noted that Mick knew both sides of the camera, and was a perfect subject for the lens; an art he hopes to learn by looking at more photographs of the master.
Later, Tom spent some time at the DJ booth with Mark Ronson, and took some video of the mixologist’s work.
Guests included the Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Arthur Baker, Betsey Johnson, Stephen Baldwin, Nick Kowalczyk, Ann Dexter Jones, Mia Moretti and Theophilus London. The after-after party was on the 31st floor, our Celebrity Magnet went upstairs until after 1:00 AM. “All-in-all it was a fun, rocking event,” Tom said.

Prior to that, Tom mentioned that the hour long Vogue’s party, at the Boom-Boom Room at the Standard Hotel had closed the bar by 8, and had little to nothing going on in the food or guests dept. either.
