MTV’s Jersey Shore is in its fifth season. Although it seems kind of repetitive each year: Sammi and Ronnie fight, Snooki cries about Jionni, everyone hates on the Situation, and the conversations only consist of dissing “grenades” and doing “GTL” everyday. (There ya go – now you are all caught up.) The show is nonetheless still bringing in stellar ratings. People can’t get enough of these eight self-acclaimed “Guidos.”
The drama on the show always reaches new heights, especially last season when The Situation threw his head into a concrete wall and had to go to the hospital. Or, when Deena and Snooki got into a screaming argument with an Italian bartender who threw ice on them and in return they threw whatever they could find back at him. The show always has new twists and turns, and aggressive fist fights for us to gawk at while we sit on the couch eating popcorn. It makes us once again question how “real-istic” are these reality TV shows.
In an interview this week with Kelly Ripa, guest host Boomer Esiason, and The Situation on Live! With Kelly (we miss you Regis), Mike did insinuate that the show is a bit staged. His response to one of their questions did reveal a little bit of what all viewers’ already assumed – it is fake! Or, at least tweaked in a way that these occurrences wouldn’t have happened naturally. Click HERE and out the video of the Situation slipping up.
