As unfunny as this news is, unfortunately, it is ALSO not an April Fool’s joke.
The Hollywood Reporter exclusively reported late last week that a sequel to the 1980′s movie “Twins,” is in the works, called “Triplets.” The movie will have Arnold Schwarzenegger & Danny DeVito reviving their roles as separated-at-birth twins, but the sequel will reveal that the mismatched duo have a third brother, a triplet.
And the actor chosen to play that triplet? Eddie Murphy. (Yes, this is TOTALLY plausible. TOTALLY!)
Director Ivan Reitman, who directed the original film, would serve as a producer on the film. The film doesn’t have a director at the moment, and the Hollywood Reporter also made clear that the film is still currently only in the early idea stages. “Insiders caution that no substantial creative discussions have taken place between Universal and Montecito (Reitman’s production company),” said the Reporter.
