You would think that most young singers, especially 18-year-old pop sensation Justin Bieber
would take being compared to mega star and talented vocalist Justin Timberlake, as a compliment. But lately it seems that the recent high school graduate is taking himself a little bit too seriously and is also getting a little full of himself.
During an interview with the host of Mojo in the Morning, a Detroit area radio show, the Biebz finally reached his breaking point after weeks of promotional touring and being the center of the public’s attention. The interview seemed like it was off to a great start, until Mojo compared Bieber’s voice to Timberlake’s.
“I hope you take this as a compliment,” said Mojo. “When I heard ‘Boyfriend’ for the very first time, I thought it was Justin Timberlake’s single.”
Rather than thanking the host, Bieber did not take the comment positively.
“Saying I sound like someone else is not really a compliment,” Bieber responded.
But the interview didn’t stop there, and got even worse. Later on in the interview Mojo questioned the “Boyfriend” singer about his friendship with the members of British boy band, One Direction, and jokingly asked if Bieber ever worried about Harry around his mom, “since he likes older women?” Singer Harry Styles has reportedly dated several older women recently.
Bieber seemed confused or annoyed when he repsonded with the icy retort, ”I think you should worry about me around your mom, bro.”
“Justin, my mom’s dead, so unfortunately it wouldn’t work,” quipped the host. And then Bieber hung-up.
