(PCM) Trying to show that he is still relevant, “Comedian” Dane Cook made a joke about the Terrible Theater shooting that happened exactly one week ago today.
The “comic” took the stage Thursday night at the Laugh Factory on Sunset Blvd. and began to talk about the New Batman Movie.
“So I heard that the guy came into the theater about 25 minutes into the movie … And I don’t know if you’ve seen the movie, but the movie is pretty much a piece of crap … yeah, spoiler alert.” This is coming from the guy who has the movies “Employee of the Month” and “Good Luck Chuck” to his credit. Anyway, he continues, stating, “I know that if none of that would have happened, pretty sure that somebody in that theater, about 25 minutes in, realizing it was a piece of crap, was probably like ‘ugh f***ing shoot me.’”
According to sources, Audience members laughed, followed by a collective groan.
I understand it is important to move on from tragedy, and it is needed. Humor is one of those ways to recover from tragedy. But, there is a fine line to that humor, and Cook crossed that line. I wonder how the families would respond to Cook’s joke? Just something to pass along.
