Morgan Freeman Claims Obama is Not First Black President

In a recent interview with NPR, Morgan Freeman claimed that President Barack Obama is not America’s first African-American President because he is of mixed race.

Since President Obama first took office, doubts have been raised about his religious affiliation, his birth place, and even his college transcripts, and now one of his supporters, Morgan Freeman, is calling out the President’s title as Ameria’s first Black President.

Freeman claimed this to point out that those who oppose Obama because of his race are mistaken because he is mixed race and not African American.

Traditionally, people who are mixed race usually decide for themselves which of their parents’ race they identify with, but Freeman believes that Obama, who has considered himself to be black since his childhood, is mixed race since his mother was white. Morgan stated:

“First thing that always pops into my head regarding our president is that all of the people who are setting up this [racial] barrier for him … they just conveniently forget that Barack had a mama, and she was white — very white American, Kansas, middle of America. There was no argument about who he is or what he is. America’s first black president hasn’t arisen yet. He’s not America’s first black president, he’s America’s first mixed-race president.”
