(PCM) Russell Brand has had to deal with a variety of adversary throughout his career, but his recent struggle includes an iphone. yes, an iphone.
In New Orleans in mid-March, the comedian grabbed an iphone from a paparazzi, and threw it through a window. he turned himself in to authorities, and had to pay the repair costs, totaling $240. now, prosecutors are moving forward. The Orleans Parish District Attorney’s office has finally decided to go forward and prosecute the actor, and will file one charge of misdemeanor criminal damage to property.
If convicted, the comedian can spend up to 6 months in jail. That’s right. For throwing a smart phone through a window, you could face up to half a year in jail. I think more highly of mosquitoes than the paparazzi, but Brand was wrong. The man has a lot going for him, why hinder his success with something as idiotic and embarrassing as throwing an iphone through a window? Furthermore, who goes to jail for something like that? Brand’s maturity and professionalism is usually under fire. This certainly does not help his case.
