Bobby Brown checked into a rehabilitation center last week, but is “mentally in a good place.” He agreed to check in to a rehab center after he was arrested earlier this year for a driving-related infraction when he was pulled over for talking on his cell phone, and then failed a field sobriety test.
“Mr. Brown takes his agreement very seriously and admitted himself three weeks after concluding his honeymoon in Mexico during a break from the New Edition tour,” his attorney Christopher Brown said in a statement. “Bobby is doing well and receiving services that comply with his agreement with the State of California.”
“Bobby’s children and loved ones are very proud of him,” said his wife and manager, Alicia Etheredge-Brown. “We appreciate his fans’ prayers and well wishes. Bobby is mentally in a good place.”
The location of his treatment facility is confidential, and said simply that the nature of his rehabilitation is “relating to alcohol use,” according to E! News.
Bobbi Kristina tweeted her support for father, too. ”I love my father, very much and wish him well in all.”
Brown is still scheduled to continue with his New Edition and solo concert dates, starting September 1st.
