Chris Brown appeared in court on Monday for a probation hearing in Los Angeles and received some news that he probably did not want to hear.
After testing positive for marijuana while on probation, the R&B singer’s probation was not revoked. Brown told the probation department in Virginia that he had a medical marijuana card and had ingested the drug in California, information that did not seem to impact Judge Patricia Schnegg’s decision.
“You are not only in the public eye but you are on probation to me,” Schnegg told Brown. “You are on probation for five years and you still have a couple left. Your conduct is important.”
Brown’s drug usage was not the only issue bothering the court. The D.A. requested for Breezy to confirm in some way that he had actually completed his probation hours, but Brown had little to say for himself.
The “Don’t Wake Me Up” singer told the court for that he did his community service alone, for the most part, and “I didn’t sign in.”
Because of the singer’s poor performance in court, Shnegg ordered a probation-violation setting hearing for November 1 and Brown is also required to register with California probation.
Brown is still on probation for his domestic violence plea after hitting his then-girlfriend Rihanna in February 2009. Rihanna, has been surprisingly supportive of her ex, tweeting, “Praying for you baby, my best wishes are with you today! Remember that whatever God does in our lives, it is WELL DONE!!!”
