Ritchie Havens, passed way Monday from a heart attack, at age 72, on Monday, April 22. He was the first performer at the three-day 1969 Woodstock Festival and he performed for the 40th anniversary in 2009.
Havens also performed at Bill Clinton’s presidential Inauguration in 1993. He has released more than 25 albums. His last album was 2008′s Nobody Left to Crown.

Ceremonies before the game, postponed because of the massive police manhunt for suspect #2, Dzhokhar Tsarnaev, honoring victims of Monday’s Boston Marathon bombings, as well as the city’s police and fire departments, featured a live, 8th inning performance of “Sweet Caroline” by singer Neil Diamond, who came in unannounced an unplanned for the performance.
