Robin Gibb, a founding member of Australian disco-pop group The Bee Gees, has passed away this evening after a long, arduous battle with cancer, CNN is reporting. He was 62 years old.
This passing marks the second of the disco era this month — just three days earlier, Donna Summer also lost her battle with cancer.

Marc Anthony has officially filed for divorce from Jennifer Lopez, LatinTRENDS reports.
Citing irreconcilable differences, the 43-year-old musician filed for divorce from the 42-year-old American Idol judge. Anthony (born Marc Anthony Muniz) also asked the courts to deny spousal support, should it be requested, and for joint physical custody of the couple’s twins (Max & Emme).
The couple announced their breakup in July, and they will continue to run their clothing line (Q’Viva) & their reality show together.
Newly-engaged Alec Baldwin has just finished dealing with the trauma of a stalker, who is now — thankfully — safely in custody.

Former L.A. Law — and Star Wars prequel — alumnus Jimmy Smits can add “anarchist” to his resume.
After recently coming off of a successful stint on Dexter, the NYPD Blue actor has signed on for season 5 of the gritty FX motorcycle drama Sons of Anarchy, where Deadline reports that Smits will be on the other side of the badge in his role of Nero Padilla.
