Whitney Houston died in a room in the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Beverly Hills, CA hotel room Saturday. Houston was pronounced dead at 3:55 pm (6:55 pm ET) despite numerous attempts to resuscitate her. Don Cornelius, creator and host of Soul Train, was found dead Wednesday morning in his Los Angeles, CA home of an apparently self-inflicted gunshot wound. A family member discovered Cornelius around 4 am, and he was pronounced dead at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center at 4:56 am.

Robert Hegyes died Thursday morning after suffering an apparent heart attack.
The actor was best known for his role of Juan Epstein on the ’70′s sitcom Welcome Back Kotter, which starred John Travolta and Gabe Kaplan.
After his 4 seasons on Welcome Back Kotter, Hegyes costarred on Cagney & Lacey as Detective Manny Esposito, and also appeared on The Love Boat, NewsRadio and CHiPS. The actor taught occassional master classes at his alma mater, Rowan University.

Legendary former Penn State football coach Joe Paterno died Sunday of lung cancer.
Paterno’s career ended abruptly in November, 2011 amid allegations that he failed to respond forcefully enough to a sex abuse scandal involving a former assistant. Paterno later admitted that he probably could have done more in the Sandusky probe. He did everything within the rules, going to the proper authorities when informed of indiscretions.

Actor and comedian Patrice O’Neil, a fixture on the New York comedy scene for almost two decades, died Tuesday morning.
He had suffered a stroke in October, and had also battled diabetes.
O’Neil was a regular guest on the “Opie and Anthony” radio show and appeared on the “Chapelle Show”, “The Office”, and most recently performed at the “Comedy Central Roast of Charlie Sheen” in September.
Patrice is survived by his wife, Vondecarlo, step-daughter Aymilyon, sister Zinder and mother Georgia.
The executive producer of the “Chronicles of Narnia” trilogy was found dead in his SoHo apartment on Thursday after an apparent oxycontin overdose.
Perry Moore, 39, was found unconscious in the bathroom at about 9:30 a.m. by his partner, Hunter Hill, inside the W. Houston St. home they shared, the sources said.
